Adventure Log: Shen Month 4 Epic Quest Part 2

Rules Used

Having a healer is great and all but he is of the Red Sun alignment (the "good guys"), which opens me up to attacks from the Black Moon alignment (the "bad guys") and more negative interaction results. This is not necessarily bad but, I'm committed to the side of good now and can't recruit Black Moon NPCs, such as goblins and orcs...Sad indeed!

Also, I've never had a healer in the group so I will go into detail if I need to heal a character and take a step-by-step approach. With that said, let's get started on the second wandering encounter for this quest!

Our Heroes:

Rep 5 AC 2 Thief Star (Smooth, Clumsy)
Rep 4 AC 2 Soldier Grunt (Hard as Nails)

Ragnar Rep 4 AC 4 Healer Grunt (Agile) Red Sun

Total PEF's to encounter is 3 PEF's, sounds reasonable. It is happening during the night. I keep my running tally of IRD (increasing rep d6) and DRD (decreasing rep D6) from the last encounter.

As you may or may not recall, we are in the Capalan League area so I am supposed to use the "Tereken" table to generate the men I encounter in the PEF's. I will, however, draw a card from my GM's Apprentice deck and use the scatter dice arrow to see in which direction I will be going on this grand quest. This will determine the men I run into. I consult my map of Talomir; North Altengard, West Mirholme, East Capalan League, and south Tereken. The pointer was pointing north, so into Altengard we go. The Altengard list appears in the Road to Ekra.

This time the PEF's will be Altengard  (1-3), Goblins (4-5), and Trolls (6) for the rest of the quest.

PEF 1: Looks like three Altengard. A rep 5 ac 6 mounted knight with nerves of steel, a rep 3 ac 4 soldier, and a rep 3 ac 2 shooter. Altengard are of the Red Sun alignment. To the interaction table! Shen passes 2d6 and the knight passes 2d6 as well. They acknowledge but don't stop to interact.

PEF 2: Again, three Altengard. A rep 5 ac 6 mounted knight with slow to react, a rep 4 ac 2 shooter, and a rep 4 ac 4 soldier. Almost deja vu! This time the knight only passes 1d6 compared to Shen's 2d6. That's 1 IRD and a chance to recruit lower rep than Shen. I want to further interact with the shooter. To do that, I go back to the interaction table to "further interact." Shen passes 2d6 (smooth ability needed) and she passes 1d6. Welcome to the band! I roll for attribute but she has none. I draw a GM's Apprentice card for the name, Evetta.

Evetta Rep 4 AC 2 Shooter Red Sun

PEF 3: Trolls! A lot of them too, five to be exact. This could get interesting. There are three rep 6 ac 4 trolls and two rep 4 ac 2 trolls. My best bet is intimidation. Wow! Shen passed 2d6 and the troll only 1d6 on the intimidation roll...Sweeeeeeet.

That ends this wandering encounter, now for the roll to see if I find what I'm looking for, the Statue of the Eternal Father. Rolling a 2, I see that I have located the dungeon! Next encounter will be the dungeon and if I make it out, I only have two wandering encounters.

Shen 2 IRD, 6 DRD

Phineas 0 IRD, 1 DRD

Ragnar 0 IRD, 1 DRD

Evetta 0 IRD, 0 DRD

IRD Pool: 5 (This will be split equally among the group with excess points going to a random band member)
